Professional Association Compensation Survey

This is an annual survey designed to capture compensation trends for large professional associations and individual member organizations. We collect compensation data for ~30 executive/senior management positions and 80 benchmark positions, focusing in particular on positions unique to the professional associations sector or where pay practices may differ across types of nonprofits (e.g., certification/accreditation, education, membership, publishing).

For each position, we report base salary, bonus, and total cash at various percentiles.  In addition, we report total remuneration (total cash plus all non-cash compensation) for the CEO position, with a breakout of health and welfare benefits, qualified retirement, deferred compensation, and perquisites costs.  Compensation data is reported in aggregate for all participants, as well by cuts by organization size and type.
